As you train towards ranks of black belt, it is important to track progress. The belt ranking system is a way to test your skills and demonstrate improvement along the way. When we advance in rank, there is a set of requirements that are designed to create skills that are associated with your current level of training, for example the requirements at white belt are very different from the skills required at blue belt. When you have spent the time in rank and your instructors feel that you are ready to advance, they will give you permission to join the rank evaluation test. Rank evaluations are held every 10-12 weeks.
